So goofy and painfully 80's... Yet every one of these seems to be an automatic. Still, I’d rock one.

They are awesome! Toyota quality and lots of utility! I forgot Toyota sold that generation Corolla hatchback under their own name; there’s also the Chevy Nova. The hatchbacks are the same, but the sedans are different between the two.

These were also sold as Chevy Novas right? or was that a Tercel?

so very brown.

That is seriously tempting. But then I’d have to park the poor thing outside on the street, which is not the life it deserves.

What about the Chevy version?

Novas were Corollas (Sprinters?) (not sure about this particular 5-door style though).

Oh, well there you go. It WAS sold as a 5-door Nova. I’m learning!
Also, NO.

“Fuel pressure bleeds back to tank if not drivin for a few days but can be primed again by plunger on top of fuel filter easy.”
Worth it

A friend of mine told me about an 83(?) Nova he had, that was a 5 door hatch like that. He said it was a “great, slow, rusty, reliable, unstoppable utter piece of shit”. Which yeah sounds about right. lol.

The Nova sedan, 1st gen Prizm sedan, and 2nd gen Prizm were all Sprinters (slightly different body work from the Corolla, mainly centering around the rear-most side window).
E80 Corolla sedan.
E80 Sprinter sedan (also Nova sedan)
I believe the 5-door Nova and 3rd gen Prizm were Corollas (but I’m not sure). The 5-door 1st gen Prizm was definitely a Sprinter Cielo.

That’s nice, but the interior isn’t
plaid
enough...

Canada import, or did they sell a diesel in USA?

Looks like a deal except - what is that big ass air freshener doing near the snifter? Why are all the doors and hatch open? I wonder whose aunt Marge died in there?

Zoid is a brand snob.
I always chuckled about the GM-Toyota partnership because their cars in the US have always been similar in quality to each-other. Their only difference is that Toyota buyers maintain their cars, Toyota used thinner steel, GM was better at rustproofing (if only marginally), and homegrown GM had marginally crappier interiors.
Basically, I think of Toyota as the Japanese GM.

Can't say I remember every seeing the Toyota version around these parts. I know all the 5 door Novas seem to have rusted into the great beyond.

These were terrible cars when new (every rental fleet was stacked with them), and they only got worse with age. You might think you like it, but it’s actually one of the most terrible things ever. The Koreans hadn’t figured out how to build good cars yet.
I still have friggin’ nightmares about these... gahh!

In the US for model years 1984-85 only, I think.

My grandmother’s neighbor had one for years. Like from brand new until about 8 years ago.

The akward liftback was awesome; friends had one growing up.
It was the coolest until we got an E90 wagon.
